Jakarta. Mercedes-Benz established itself as the largest premium car market in Indonesia today. It dikemukaka by the President Director and CEO of PT Mercedes-Benz Indonesia (MBI), Rudi Borgenheimer at the Grand Hyatt, Jakarta.
Described by Rudi, total sales of Mercedes-Benz this year (January-July) has reached 2229 units. The achievement was up 51 percent compared with same period last year, 1475 units. With this, Mercedes-Benz luxury car market share menikmat 68.6 percent, of total sales of 3151 units. Sales of luxury cars themselves, within seven months of 2010, up 50 percent compared to 2174 units the previous year.
Currently, there are six brands market their products in the premium segment in Indonesia, namely the Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Jaguar, Lexus and Volvo. But who really fought out is the two German brands, Mercedes-Benz and BMW newly assigned to 21.5 percent or 684 units of total sales. While the Lexus following the # 3 with sales of 232 units.
Of all cars sold by Mercedes-Benz, the best-selling model is the E-Classs sedan with total sales of 820 units, up 28 percent from 647 units last year. C-Class sedan to dominate the medium-luxury segmens 74.1 percent. C-Class sales have reached 749 units.
S-Class assigned to the portion of 74.5 percent. This model sales grew 113 percent to 281 units. Another model which is marketed by Mercedes-Benz B-Class asalah (48 units), M-Classs (18 units), 16 units of the R-Class and GL-Classs 6 units.
